The transformation and upgrading of Chinese enterprises is urgent, and overseas mergers and acquisitions are considered as a shortcut to acquire technology. However, this kind of thinking is just wishful thinking.

According to reports, on the 23rd, officials of the National Development and Reform Commission, China Machinery Industry Federation, China Quality Association and other institutions, and some manufacturing companies including Gree Electric Appliances, a leading Chinese appliance company, called for the second China Manufacturing Summit. Through independent innovation, master the core technology, improve the quality, and “let the world fall in love with China”.

Zhang Gang, a State Council counselor, suggested that Chinese companies should carry out innovations in four areas, including technology and consumer-centered quality management, and change the status quo of Chinese products to win the international market by quality and cheap. Zhang Gang said that the unit price of Chinese exports is not only lower than that of developed countries, but also lower than the world average. Taking 2013 as an example, he said that nearly 80% of Chinese goods are competitive with price advantage. In developed countries such as Germany and Japan, the quality advantage wins 56% or even 65%.
