1. Scope of application:

2. Purpose: To ensure product quality, remove grease, other dirt, rust, oxide skin, welding molten particles, welding oxide layer, and roughening of the sprayed surface on the surface of the workpiece to meet product quality, safe use and occupational health requirements .

3. Equipment and tools:  

Air compressors, air dryers, spray guns, sandblasting rooms, vacuum cleaners, gloves, glasses, gas masks, work clothes, work caps and other labor protection supplies.

4. Selection of sandblasting abrasives for different surface treatment products:

Surface paint products: The surface roughness directly affects the adhesion of the paint surface, and the surface roughness is relatively

It is better, and the denser the pill pit, the better. Experience has proved that the surface roughness parameter of stainless steel products is Ra3.2~Ra6.3um, and the surface paint film adhesion is good. Stainless steel shot or emery and other abrasives can be used (iron sand is prohibited).

Surface sprayed products: There is no standard for "surface roughness of sprayed parts" for sprayed products, and the samples approved by both parties are usually used for comparison. Therefore, the size of abrasive for products that need to be sandblasted before spraying must be approved by both parties after spraying.

Surface finishing products: To obtain a matt or diffuse reflection surface, or to polish the decorative surface, spherical abrasives, such as glass beads, emery, etc. are generally selected, but the specific selection of the abrasive size depends on the technical conditions of the drawings and the comparison sample provided by the customer to make a selection.

Note: Since the painting and plastic spraying process of the product is completed in the company, when the purchasing department chooses outsourced sandblasting, the size of the sandblasting abrasive can allow the spraying technician to provide samples or specific parameters according to the spraying technical requirements of the product.

5. Operation steps:

Preparation: 

1). Carefully read the drawings and process documents, and sort out the sandblasting sequence in combination with the product. 

2). According to the material of the workpiece to be sprayed, the purpose of sandblasting and customer requirements, select the type of abrasive with the appropriate mesh. The higher the mesh, the smoother the surface to be sprayed.

3). The compressed air used for sandblasting must be dry and oil-free.

4). Wear labor protection equipment. 

5). Before sandblasting, use masking tape, metal sheet, collar, hardwood, or rubber to shield and protect the non-effective surface.

6). Blasting abrasives must be kept clean and dry. Abrasives contaminated with old coatings, scale, or grease are not permitted.
