Stainless steel rusting is not necessarily a quality problem. Stainless steel items will inevitably rust after a long time, but if they start to rust before they are used, then it is necessary to doubt whether it is a quality problem. Stainless steel isn't actually completely rust resistant, so it's best to dry it off after use. Stainless steel is rust-resistant because the chromium and nickel contained in it undergo an oxidation reaction that forms a protective film on the surface of the product.
However, this protective film is just not corroded by weak corrosive media such as air, steam and water without chloride ions. But both tap water and salt water contain chloride ions, which can cause "pitting holes" in stainless steel cutlery, resulting in "trachoma." However, if it's pure water, it's fine, so it's best to wipe or dry it right after your daily cleaning.
