PEM nuts are common functional nuts. There is no unified national standard, and there are many different specifications. PEM nuts are also called self-clinching nuts and are mainly used for connecting materials such as thin plates or sheet metal.

The PEM nut has a round shape with embossed gears and guides grooves at one end. The principle is to press the embossing gears into the preset hole of the sheet metal. Generally speaking, the diameter of the preset hole is slightly smaller than the embossing gears of the PEM nut. The periphery of the hole is plastically deformed, and the deformed object is squeezed into the guide groove, thereby producing a locking effect.

The strength of the self-clinching nut is not so high.
Its characteristic is that it can be disassembled and the operation is simple.
