Examples of partial hard chrome plating.
(1) Insulation method Insulation method is the most commonly used method in hard chrome plating. That is, the non-plating part is wrapped with an insulating material to achieve the purpose of partial plating. These insulating materials include the use of plastic sheets, insulating tapes, insulating coatings, and the like.
(2) Profiling Fixture Method When stainless steel vernier caliper is partially electroplated on the scale line, a profiling jig that exposes only part of the scale line can be made of acid-proof and alkali-proof polypropylene plastic. Cathodic protection can be performed and partial chrome plating can be performed. There are many parts that can be used to create a jig, so long as the exposed parts can be chrome plated.
(3) Shielding method In hard chrome plating, the shaft parts often appear thick and thin in the middle. To achieve the uniformity of the plating, the plastic plates can be used to block the two ends of the anode respectively, and several holes must be drilled on the plastic plate. Convection can make the solution part, so that the shaft at both ends of the dense power lines will shield part of the power line around the plastic plate, so that the middle part of the part more concentrated, the deposition of the coating will be more uniform.
(4) Subsection method Some parts of some parts are not the same as the use, and the thickness required for chrome plating is also not the same. Plating can be performed by
subsection method. When a certain segment reaches the thickness, the part is lifted out of the slot, the segment is insulated, and the other parts are then plated until all are plated.
(5) Brush Plating For large but difficult-to-remove parts requiring partial chrome plating, it is best to use brush plating. Because the brush plating does not require plating tanks, it can be operated outdoors. The deposition speed of chrome plating is fast and pollution-free. It is especially suitable for the work of local chrome plating or partial repair.
