In China, there are a large variety of stainless steel (stainless acid-resistant steel) screws. We often have nuts such as national standard, British standard, American standard, and Japanese standard. So what do you need to pay attention to when using it?
1. When using stainless steel (stainless acid-resistant steel) screws, is the nut always locked at a fixed speed?
If you are a user who is new to or not familiar with the stainless steel (stainless acid) product process, consult your supplier for the relevant characteristics of stainless steel (stainless acid-resistant steel). Non-standard screws are indispensable industrial necessities in daily life: tiny screws such as cameras, eyeglasses, watches, electronics, etc.; general screws for televisions, electrical products, musical instruments, and furniture; and engineering, construction, and bridges. Use large screws and nuts; transport equipment, airplanes, trams, cars, etc. Stainless steel screws usually refer to steels that are resistant to the corrosive effects of air, water, acids, alkali salts, or other media. According to the different composition of the alloy, the stainless steel and the acid resistance are respectively emphasized. Although some steels have a non-rusting nature, they are not necessarily resistant to acids, and acid-resistant steels are generally non-rust-resistant. In general, slowing lockdown can greatly reduce (or even completely avoid) the chance of lock-in. Because heat energy often occurs at the time of locking, so when the heat energy increases, the chance of lock-in will increase. In use, the speed of the stainless steel (stainless acid-resistant steel) fasteners should be lower than the speed of locking carbon steel.
2. Is it necessary to lubricate the screw or nut before locking it?
If the answer is “No”, we recommend using butter, molybdenum disulfide, graphite, mica, or talc to lubricate the internal and external teeth to minimize the occurrence of lock-up. Coupling is also an effective method of lubrication. After the nut has been stopped, it will be like a lubricating film between the nut and the screw.
3. Are screws and nuts of the same material quality grade selected?
If the answer is yes, it is recommended to use different grades of screws and nuts, such as 304 with 316 and so on. Stainless steel screw refers to the shape of a screw made of stainless steel screw wire rod, and it is threaded in the rear. Its material is stainless steel. Stainless steel screws are divided into stainless steel SUS201 screws, stainless steel SUS304 screws, and stainless steel SUS316 screws. However, it is necessary to pay attention to the selected grade of stainless steel (stainless acid-resistant steel) or to meet its own rust and corrosion resistance requirements.
