Comparison of Zinc Zinc Plating and Potassium Chloride Zinc Plating

Most electroplating factories (workshops) are equipped with zincate zinc plating and potassium chloride bright galvanizing process. These two galvanizing processes have their own merits and are suitable for different workpieces. Various conditions such as shape and material, production conditions, usage requirements, production costs, etc. are balanced and selected.

     (1) Zinc galvanizing. Advantages: low cost, bright and bright appearance of the coating after passivation.

     Disadvantages: poor coverage, not suitable for barrel plating, bath solution has a great impact on high temperature, low current efficiency, slow deposition rate, difficult casting and forging plating, coating should not be too thick.

     (2) Potassium chloride galvanized. Advantages: good plating ability, high current efficiency, high lightness of coating, suitable for plating cast and forged parts.

     Disadvantages: Pre-treatment requirements are stringent, and there is a high possibility of discoloration and stripping of the passivation film of the coating. The proportion of reworked parts is relatively high and the production cost is relatively high.

     If necessary, the same kind of workpiece can be first galvanized with potassium chloride, and then on this basis with zinc galvanized thicker, for some parts can achieve the best of both worlds
