Many domestic manufacturers use imported equipment in large quantities, the equipment is not bad, and the process is also very stable, and it is fully capable of manufacturing high-end bolts. Moreover, there are many foreign high-end bolt companies that have set up factories in China. Their equipment and craftsmanship are the same as those in foreign countries. So why do many applications prefer to import rather than use domestic bolts? Take the automobile industry as an example. The automobile industry is one of the industries with the highest number of high-end standard parts imported from China.




The bolt auto-tightening machine is commonly used in modern automobile assembly lines to not only automatically monitor the tightening torque, but also to monitor the number of tightening rings and the angle, in order to prevent safety problems caused by bolt tightening problems. The setting of bolt tightening torque requires a lot of tests and verification. Since a large number of joint ventures in domestic automakers do not master the core technology, this part of the test verification work is basically done abroad. When testing and verifying work abroad, bolts produced abroad are generally used. After all the tests have been verified, it can be used only when it is made in China.


Some people may ask, is it not possible to switch directly to domestic bolts when the whole vehicle is made in China? The problem is not that simple. Once the bolt tightening machine of the vehicle assembly line has completed the parameter setting, there are only two possibilities to switch to the domestic bolt when the whole vehicle is made in China:


The domestic bolts can fully meet the existing tightening machine parameter settings without any changes. This is almost impossible. The reason is that the parameters affecting the tightening torque are too many. The domestic bolts need to be in good condition with the foreign bolts. This is not a problem of process stability, but requires complete copying, which is impossible.

Use the domestic bolts to re-test the tightening torque. This possibility is also very small. First of all, the change authority of the joint venture OEM is basically in the hands of the foreign party, and people simply do not have the will to do this. Second, even with this willingness, the cost is very large. To re-test the torque, it is necessary to stop the entire assembly line, and it is basically impossible to stop for an hour or two. In the end, it is not worth the candle. Because the bolts are standardized and automated mass production, the foreign production costs are not much different from the domestic ones. It is not much money to switch to domestic production. Considering the test verification cost of switching, the cost performance is too poor. Basically no one is willing to do this.

A large number of standard parts such as bolts are imported. It is not a problem in the Chinese standard parts manufacturing industry. It reflects that many high-end industries in China are still in the hands of the West. China does not have the right to speak. In comparison, domestic normal enterprises began to use domestic bolts for torque test verification at the beginning of assembly line layout, and it is basically impossible to test imported bolts.
